Do you have a passion for promoting the welfare and best interests of children? Do you enjoy advocating before a Court or Tribunal? Would you like to be a part of a supportive team with flexible working arrangements?
The Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) is the authority responsible for registering teachers for Queensland schools and upholding the standards of conduct expected of teachers. The QCT promotes child safety and is responsible for conducting investigations and commencing disciplinary proceedings against teachers.
The Principal Legal Officer sits within the QCT's Legal Unit and manages disciplinary proceedings where: a teacher has been charged with a serious offence; or is believed to be an unacceptable risk of harm to children; or whose conduct otherwise warrants serious disciplinary action. You will utilise your excellent research and analytical skills; conduct written and oral advocacy before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal; and provide high level legal and policy advice to executive managers, the Director and the Board.
Come, be part of a team protecting children from harm, while achieving work-life balance.
Local, state and Interstate travel may be a requirement of this position.
