**About the Role**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide one-on-one support to an NDIS participant with ASD, paraplegia, and mental disabilities.
- Implement structured daily routines using visual schedules to enhance predictability and reduce anxiety.
- Effective implementation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
- Monitor and assist with medication management and use of assistive devices.
- Assist with daily personal activities, including personal care and household management.
- Support the participant in community participation and social activities.
- Develop and implement techniques and strategies to manage mental health challenges effectively.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the participant at all times.
- Document and report on the participant’s progress and any changes in their condition.
- Provide support with manual handling.
- Assist the participant with over-the-phone and face-to-face medical appointments.

**Requirements**:
**Experience**: Minimum of 2 years working with NDIS participants, particularly those with ASD, paraplegia, and mental disabilities.

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Proficiency in techniques for supporting individuals with ASD and mental disabilities.
- Understanding of and commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusivity and neurodiversity.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to guide and support the participant in a manner that respects their individual preferences.
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and adapting to individual needs.

**Qualifications**:

- Relevant qualifications in disability support, mental health, psychology, special education, or related fields.
- Certificates in manual handling and medication management.
- NDIS screening check and completion of the NDIS Workers Module.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.

**Other**:

- Young, queer, and/or neurodivergent individuals are highly encouraged to apply.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
- Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with the participant and management.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
