**About the Role**
Disability Support Workers are at the forefront of delivering quality care services in accordance with client's individual care plans. As a support worker, you will undertake a variety of tasks to support clients to live their lives their way and help them engage in activities that are important to them. These tasks may include communication support, assistance with recreational activities and high-needs personal care. You will also have the opportunity to lead and facilitate activities for small groups of clients.
**What you could be doing**:
- Provide ongoing individual and active support to people in their chosen activity;
- Support people to make real choices and engage in activities or required tasks during program or in the community.
- Attend to personal care and hygiene needs of supported persons eg toileting and meal assistance
- Provide a safe physical and emotional learning environment
- Maintain strict confidentiality on all matter regarding the people we support
- Promote clients' independence
**What we need from you**:
- Previous experience working and supporting people with a disability and experience working with participants who display behaviours of concern;
- A strong desire to provide quality client service;
- Flexibility and ability to be adaptive;
- Highly professional and able to act in a compassionate, non-judgemental manner;
- Current police check less than 3 months old or willingness to undertake one with Annecto;
- Current First Aid (with 12 months to run) and CPR Qualifications (with 6 months to run) or willingness to update;
- NDIS Workers Screening Check Clearance
- Current Driver’s License ;
- Must have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in line with the Victorian Government Public Health directions.
**What would be great to have**:
- Knowledge and experience in a similar industry or position
- Fluency in an second language
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Care or higher;
- Completed the online NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality Safety & You
