**About Health Information Services**:
HIS consists of Medical Record Operations and Casemix Services and has approximately 95 EFT located over three sites. Amongst its functions, HIS provides medical record scanning, retrieval, medical typing, morbidity data collection, release of patient information including Freedom of Information and is a resource centre for and Activity Based funding information.

**About the role**:
As a Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder you will be responsible for abstracting and coding inpatient episodes with varying complexity and participating in coding quality activities. You’ll be part of a friendly, professional and dynamic team who thrive in a challenging environment and will be supported by a team of Senior Managers including Educators and Auditors, and the Coding Manager.

**About you**:
As well as a qualification in Health Information Management or Clinical Coding, you will ideally have:

- At least one years’ experience in a coding role at a tertiary hospital
- Excellent clinical coding skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of State and National Coding Standards and Diagnostic Related Groups (DRGs)
- Understanding of the Victorian Admitted Episodes Dataset (VAED), the Policy and Funding Guidelines and the VAED Criteria for Reporting
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as member of a large team
