Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology, mental health and rehabilitation.

**About the role**:

You will have a commitment to high quality output and a positive attitude in your work environment.

In this role, you will be involved in, but not restricted to:

- Preparation and scanning of patient information and coordination with other clerks to make information available for patient care
- Release of patient information in accordance with our privacy procedures to support patient care external to Austin Health
- Quality checking of scanned information to ensure the high quality of our scanned medical record (SMR)
- Merging of patient records when duplicate Unit Record Numbers occur
- Updating information (patient and record) on various information systems
- Greeting callers and other customers as part of the reception function
- Medical record filing and retrieval
- Sorting of internal mail

**Essential Qualities**:

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Well organised, able to prioritise, plan ahead and work under pressure
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & Patient Administration Systems)
- Previous front line customer service experience
- Experience with medical terminology would be advantageous

The successful applicant will need to fit in with the rotating 3 week roster/job share:

- Week 1 - Monday, Saturday & Sunday
- Week 2 - Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday
- Week 3 - Thursday, Saturday & Sunday

Hours:

- Evening shift (Mon to Fri) 1515-2315
- Weekend & PH 0700-1515 or 1500-2315
