Where the team fits in
- The Risk & Assurance Team sits within the Finance & Business Services Group, headed up by Janelle Hopkins. The Finance and Business Services Group, or FaBS as we like to call them, is the engine room of REA Group. The team is comprised of Finance, Risk & Assurance, Procurement & Workplace, Financial Reporting, CXP which includes Contracts, and Customer Collections.
What the role is all about- With the Head of Risk, Financial Services, drive the implementation and embedding of the REA Risk Management Framework within the Financial Services business. This includes the development, maintenance and monitoring of Operational Risk Profiles and Compliance Obligations with linked Key Risk Indicators and Controls.-
- Assist to develop an annual Assurance Plan that includes control testing oversight activities. Assist with SOX readiness activities as required by Internal Audit team.-
- Change Risk Management - Provide support to the Financial Services business by facilitating and managing risk workshops to identify, assess, and report on key risks-
- Regulatory Change
- Work with the Head of Risk, Financial Services stakeholders and legal, to ensure that all identified regulatory changes impacting Financial Services have undergone a Business Impact Assessment and that the regulatory change is executed and embedded into Financial Services by the required date.-
- Incident management - where required, take an active role in incident management to ensure the REA Major Incident Management Framework is adhered to-
- Business Continuity - Working with the Head of Risk, Financial Services and Group Resilience Manager to ensure all elements of the Business Resilience Framework are implemented and executed-
- Reporting
- Undertake analysis and reporting of key information relating to the management of risk exposures by the business. Provide appropriate insight and information into the Risk Committees and help prepare PacksWho we’re looking for- Experience in an Operational Risk and/or Compliance role, demonstrating good knowledge of risks and controls-
- Previous experience managing risk in large organisations-
- Excellent business and report writing skills, including for Executive and Board reports-
- Experience in effectively managing relationships with Senior stakeholders, including the provision of appropriate support and professional and insightful reporting-
- Excellent communication and presentation skills - ability to prepare engaging and persuasive messages to internal and external senior stakeholders. Ability to communicate with people at different levels and with contrasting levels of technical knowledge and skills-
