**About Your Role**
Our Above Water Systems team provides a variety of services to the Royal Australian Navy and other partners, that span across Australia and in other international markets. With diverse operations across ship repair, maintenance, asset management and in-service support capabilities for commercial and naval ships, we also offer the provision of docking, reticulated services and facility maintenance within the Garden Island Defence Precinct in Sydney, an expending Maritime Precinct in Newcastle and other large-scale programs in Darwin and Cairns.
Due to an internal movement, we look forward to you joining us as our **Program Manager - Minehunter Coastal **. Overseeing the Program Management and related In Service Support contractual requirements, this is a hands-on leadership role where you will oversee a diverse team of professionals who Think Big and Make It Happen in support of Huon Class vessels.
You will be ready to harness your knowledge, skills and experience as the contract encompasses; Engineering, Maintenance, Configuration Management and Materials services to the Defence customer as you make an impact on the broader Thales organisation in general.
Key responsibilities will see you;
- Taking a central leadership role in the program management of all aspects of the In Service Support contract to achieve contractual obligations
- Leading a diverse team of experienced and passionate professionals as you play a central leadership role, in the pursuit of; budget, schedule and performance (KPI) outcomes, as well as other requirements in support of HSE, Quality, Commercial considerations and other requirements
- Maintaining strong internal relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including; Bids, Sales/Marketing, Engineering, Production, Project Management and other key support functions
- Liaising with a variety of external stakeholders, acting as a key customer interface and ensuring that Thales Australia meets and exceeds agreed benchmarks in relation to both operational effectiveness and contractual performance
- Identifying and managing risk, preparing and evaluating budgets, expenditure and financial performance metrics in order to achieve maximum outcomes
- Playing a pivotal leadership role in relation to HSE as you go beyond statutory compliance and ensure positive outcomes in everything you do
- Role modelling our Thales values and associated Leadership Model as you mentor others and develop future team capabilities
**How About You?**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Engineering, Project Management etc.) and proven experience in a similar program/project management position, ideally within a similar environment/organisation
- Proven and effective leadership skills with a high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills to lead high performing teams
- Extensive contract management experience at a senior management level coupled with proven capabilities in the delivery of contractual obligations against set KPI’s and objectives
- Strong background in managing customer requirements and interacting with a variety of key internal and external stakeholders in influencing business outcomes
- Background in leading others within a similar high-risk environment and ensuring compliance in relation to Health, Safety and Environment requirements
- Those with a working knowledge and/or background in working to ASDEFCON standards will be viewed favourably, as will those with experience working within a similar Defence industry role
