Finance Officer

The primary focus of this position is to support the Plan Group to deliver provider payments, account reconciliation, debtors, and payment enquiries for Plan Partners / Plan Tracker (subsidiaries of McMillan Shakespeare Limited). This includes day to day liaison with internal teams and third party suppliers to ensure timely and accurate transaction processing and reporting.

This position is an integral role requiring prompt payment to service providers - central to Plan Group’s value proposition.

Key responsibilities

Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Prompt transaction processing into JDE Accounting Software
- Maintenance of Accounts Payable Ledger
- Reconciliation of general ledger accounts including bank account, accounts receivable, other debtors, creditors (control and by supplier) and accruals
- Preparing month-end journals, including revenue & expense accruals
- Responding to supplier queries
- Other miscellaneous duties as required including general maintenance and dealing with adhoc queries

Processes and Procedures
- Maintain JDE address book, checking accuracy of and uploading accounts payable,
- Maintain documentation of processes and procedures with respect to finance transactions and controls
- Maintain accurate procedural compliance in regard to filing and records.
- Maintain an organised workstation and file management system to enable team access as required.
- Inform the manager of any issues that prevent above.

To be considered for the role you will have:

- Demonstrated experience in banking reconciliation or accounts payable/ receivable, ideally within a financial services environment, preferably in a high volume environment.
- Excellent computer skills, including Excel.
JDE and Salesforce experience would be advantageous.
- Transactional-based functional experience.
- Demonstrated ability in interpreting and analysing numerical data and complex information to complete required tasks.
- High level of written and oral communication skills to tailor communication and messages to the variety of clients.
- Flexibility and adaptability to adjust to demands and peak workloads.
