**The Role**
As an APS 6 Information and Records Management Officer, you will lead and coordinate key activities to ensure effective governance of information assets across the organisation. This includes overseeing compliant record-keeping practices, managing information life-cycle processes, and supporting digital transition initiatives. A critical aspect of the role involves the preparation and management of probity briefings to support transparent and accountable decision-making in procurement, recruitment and governance activities. You will provide advice on records management policies, liaise with stakeholders to ensure consistent practices, and contribute to process improvement and risk mitigation initiatives. The role requires strong attention to detail, a sounding understanding of legislative and policy frameworks, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
**About our Team**
The Henderson Consolidation Taskforce was established in July 2024 and will transition into a division, establishing two new branches within the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG). This new APS 6 Information and Records Management Officer is one of the new APS positions that have been established in the Program Management Office. To succeed in this role, you will:
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders in relation to the life cycle of information and records management activities and relevant legislative and administrative guidance.
- Manage information and records management activities in accordance with the Archives Act 1983, relevant legislation and Defence policies and procedures.
- Review integrity of information to recommend its suitability for disclosure in accordance with legislative and administrative guidance.
- Develop and implement information and records management policies and procedures to achieve continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve outcomes and promote best practice information management and probity awareness.
- Manage the end to end coordination of probity briefings to support procurement, recruitment and governance processes.
- Maintain and improve record-keeping systems, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and audit readiness.
- Monitor and report on compliance with probity and information governance requirements.
- Support training and awareness programs on record-keeping obligations and ethical standards.
