Patient Services Assistant

**The Opportunity**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate **Patient Care Assistant (PCA)** to join our team on a **part-time basis (63 hrs per fortnight)**, supporting patients across multiple hospital departments.

In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety while helping to maintain the smooth operation of the hospital. This position is ideal for someone with a **Certificate III in Aged Care or Health Services** who is passionate about delivering high-quality care in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

**As a PCA, you will**:

- Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Safely transport patients as required.
- Support clinical teams by monitoring vital signs, assisting with ECGs, and recording accurate observations.
- Contribute to a safe and welcoming environment, always prioritising patient wellbeing and comfort.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist clinical staff in providing high-quality care and patient support.
- Provide safe patient transport using hospital-approved equipment and vehicles.
- Assist patients on admission and ensure they are settled comfortably.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient rooms and shared areas, in line with infection control standards.

**To be successful, you will have**:

- **Certificate III in Aged Care**, Health Services, or Care Support (desirable).
- Experience working in a clinical hospital setting.
- Strong understanding of infection control, manual handling, and hospital safety procedures.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.

**Desirable qualifications and experience**:

- Certificate IV in Health Services Assistance.
