Brisbane, Australia Queensland Treasury Corporation Full time

Are you passionate about the energy transition and ready to make a real impact on Queensland’s energy journey?

At QTC, we’re looking for a driven and analytical Associate to join our Advisory Divisions Energy team in Brisbane. If you have experience in financial modelling, energy financing, corporate/project financing, project development or consulting—and exposure to the energy infrastructure sector—this is your chance to contribute to Queensland's energy future.

At Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC), our Advisory Division is on a mission to drive financial sustainability and operational excellence across Queensland’s Government Departments, Local Governments and Government-Owned Corporations. We’re passionate about supporting our clients in achieving their goals and making a lasting impact.

**What you will do**:
As an Associate, you’ll play a key role in delivering strategic, financial, and commercial insights across a wide range of energy projects. You’ll work closely with Queensland’s Government-Owned Corporations (GOCs)—including electricity generators, distributors, and transmission providers—supporting both operational decisions and long-term policy outcomes.

Your work will span:

- Strategic reviews and advisory for energy infrastructure and transition projects
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders and government shareholders
- Researching and communicating insights on electricity, gas, coal, and emerging energy technologies

**What you could bring**:

- Prior experience in financial modelling, corporate/project financing, data analysis, infrastructure development or consulting
- 2-4 years' experience from a similar role and looking to pursue an energy focused career pathway.
- Exposure to the energy sector (generation, storage, transmission, trading, financing or risk)
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication—both written and verbal
- A tertiary qualification in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, or a related field
- A genuine interest in energy transition and decarbonisation

**Why join us?**

At QTC, you’ll be part of a purpose-driven organisation that supports Queensland’s financial sustainability and energy transformation. You’ll work on high-impact projects, grow your expertise in a dynamic sector, and collaborate with energy experts within your team and across government and industry.
