**About us**

Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency of the Department of Regional New South Wales. It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales. This regionally based organisation brings together a wide range of service and advisory functions including agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services, private native forestry. Our team is there when it matters, on the ground helping landholders with knowledge, networks and local experience.

This is a full-time role with the key function to implement best practice pest animal and over-abundant native fauna management actions at a 900 ha landholding in the Cumberland Plain, Western Sydney.

**About the Role**:
A true and hands on project management role, you will be responsible for:

- Planning, coordinating and implementing the removal of invasive animal species and the management of over-abundant native fauna from a large landholding in Western Sydney.
- Preparing plans as they relate to project and undertaking budget preparation and monitoring
- Driving implementation, monitoring and reporting on invasive species management in partnership with a range of stakeholders.
- Working with biosecurity team on a range of other pest animal projects as required.
- Supporting emergency management planning and implementation and compliance activities under the Biosecurity Act 2015 and Local Land Services Act 2013.

**What you will need**:

- Demonstrated experience in vertebrate pest management
- Demonstrated complex project management experience (including planning, financial management and evaluation) and proven relationship management and partnership development experience
- The ability to effectively manage contracts and to balance conflicting goals and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships between and within the biosecurity team and other partners
- The internal drive and motivation to achieve outcomes to high standard
- A positive and solution focused attitude with the ability to think creatively and solve complex problems for both yourself and others as they arise
- The ability to work autonomously with limited supervision and simply get things done

**Essential Requirements**:

- Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to travel

Desirables:

- Hold a NSW firearms Licence or equivalent, and a Statement of Attainment (to Use Firearms to humanely destroy animals AQF AHCVPT203A, AHCPMG304) and be appointed as an Authorised Officer under the Biosecurity Act
