An Australian Public Service role seeking Passport Customer Service and Support Officer
**Your new company**
A federal government agency recruiting for customer service and support officers in a well-established agency to join their team on a temporary contract initially for a 6-12-month with a possible 12-month extension. This department is one of Australia’s regulatory agencies who ensure national safety supporting business outcomes and services to organisations.
**Your new role**
In your new team you will have the opportunity to provide a high level of customer support with high motivation. This work will involve excellent customer service skills with strong communication and telephone manner. As a part of the team you will report to the Operations Supervisor completing daily tasks and projects for the agency.
Purpose is to offer guidance and assistance to sponsored clients regarding the issuance of Australian Travel Documents. The role entails providing advice, answering queries, and addressing concerns related to passports and travel documentation.
Passport Customer Service and Support Officers play a crucial role in assisting sponsored clients with their passport-related needs, both in face-to-face interactions and through administrative support. Their aim is to ensure a seamless and efficient process for the issuance of Australian Travel Documents while providing excellent customer service.
Your primary responsibilities are:
- Perform routine passport client interviews, for Australian travel documents (as required) in Canberra or State and Territory Offices.
- Undertake the duties of cashier including daily financial reconciliation.
- Manage and distribute a high volume of sponsored mail and correspondence.
- Assist in the sponsored passports through-life workflow, i.e.: interview, take payment, transfer between agencies, arrange the cancellation and return or destruction of passports.
**What you'll need to succeed**
Your previous experience in a similar role within the Australian Public Service will lead to your success. You will have a strong track record with experience in customer service support and strong attention to detail.
