News is a 24/7 operation and weekend and evening work will be required.

Day to day you will:

- Cover breaking news, blog major breaking news events
- Update developing stories and explainers
- Implement best SEO best practice for all content
- Monitor the performance of your stories to best understand our audience

**Qualifications**
What you’ll bring:

- Demonstrated writing skills essential, with proven ability to produce clear compelling copy
- Ability to source original news stories
- Ability to quickly identify newsworthy stories and angles
- Ability to quickly and accurately gather information from various trustworthy sources
- Excellent communication skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, grammar and syntax
- Strong digital platform skills and a working understanding of all emerging technologies
- An excellent understanding of legal best practices, including defamation laws
- Knowledge of Adobe Express is an advantage
