**The Role**

The purpose of the role and your unique contribution is to deliver expert legal, policy and regulatory advice on CTP schemes, industry and regulatory policy issues that impact on CTP’s business objectives, and assist to ensure that the business maintains sound strategic partnerships with regulators and other key external groups.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Consultation and advice** - Identify key policy issues and monitor developments in the industry and regulatory environment for personal injury/ compensation schemes and advise the business on trends and impacts.
- **Policy development and submissions**:

- Draft submissions to respond to developments and develop policy to assist the business to mitigate any adverse results. Coordinate input from all relevant internal stakeholders to also assist with ICA submissions on CTP and other statutory/ personal injury schemes. Coordinate input from Claims and Product on medical, legal, policy, regulatory reviews/ activity and initiate review by industry regulators.
- **Commercial & Legislative Reform** - use leading scheme performance indicators to identify potential deterioration and recommend appropriate action, such as Government lobbying for scheme changes. Analyse and provide recommendations to the business in relation to any scheme legislative changes or proposed changes.
- **Stakeholder management** - Develop strong working relationships with all key stakeholders both internally and externally to support all responsibilities. This includes building and maintaining effective relationships with relevant ICA Committees, support the Executive Managers in interactions with Ministers, regulators, industry bodies and other CTP stakeholders and assisting in lobbying for our business positions

**Skills & Experience**
- Several years of relevant industry experience
- Experience in preparing written submissions to government and key industry stakeholders
- Demonstrated understanding of government, industry associations, statutory authorities and their operations
- Tertiary qualification/s in legal or medical/ allied health preferred
- Driving decisions to achieve optimal customer experience
- Experience working on cross functional projects
