**Brisbane** or
**Melbourne**, the
**Account Manager** is responsible for expanding, retaining and providing excellent customer service to Shell Energy’s SME multi-site customer base in in the National Electricity Market. The primary focus will be to leverage your experience and industry relationships to execute the overall Shell Energy Sales Strategy, with a focus on winning new electricity and gas business and strengthening existing customer relationships.
With honesty, integrity and respect, you will:
- Account Manage a portfolio of C&I Gas customers across all major states;
- Achieve acquisition and retention targets as outlined in the incumbent's performance agreement;
- Identify sales opportunities and convert leads to contracts through phone and face to face selling;
- Negotiate retail gas agreements within risk management policies;
- Build and strengthen Shell Energy’s channel partner relationships;
- Run complex bids and tenders;
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and system development to deliver greater customer satisfaction and business efficiencies;
- Ensure operational business plans are deployed and Shell Energy Retail’s KPIs are achieved; and
- Support the retail electricity business on joint tenders and customer management.
**What you’ll bring**
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Demonstrated success in a sales environment, preferably within the electricity industry;
- Demonstrated knowledge of sales process and methodologies with a proven ability to “close a deal”, that is mutually rewarding for both parties;
- Knowledge of C&I products and alternative contracting considerations;
- Detailed knowledge of how the energy market works;
- Ability to enact high level negotiations;
- Ability to create work and leads without direction including cold calling;
- Ability to perform under pressure and deliver commercially sound outcomes;
- Previous experience in an account management/sales role;
- Demonstrated high level of communication;
- Experience running complicated bids and tenders; and
- Willingness to travel interstate and intrastate and a flexible approach to work hours.
