**Position Information**:
Queanbeyan Public School is an inclusive and proud comprehensive public school with an enrolment of 440 students. 26% of our enrolment are EAL/D. 11% of our enrolment are from an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background.
The school has a deep commitment to Aboriginal Education including ongoing reconciliation actions. It maintains a collaborative partnership with the Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and consults with the Aboriginal community.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience teaching children with autism, behaviour difficulties, emotional disturbance, intellectual disability and/or complex additional needs, with the ability to initiate change and build staff capacity to improve functional learning outcomes for students with highly diverse needs.
Exceptional curriculum knowledge with a demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum to engage students and develop dynamic Individual Education Plans that respond to the social, emotional, behavioural and academic learning needs in consultation with all stakeholders.
Vision and capacity to collaboratively and proactively lead a holistic approach to school improvement with an emphasis on student wellbeing and behaviour support.
Demonstrated effective and highly visible leadership to build and strengthen student, staff and community relationships and partnerships with external agencies.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
