CHE Proximity is looking for a new breed of Head of Media
Quite simply, Media and Connections at CHEP are built around 2 clear attributes: creativity and effectiveness.
Secondly, effectiveness. We are firm believers that the most effective campaigns combine both mass, segment and personalised communications across both digital performance and high reach traditional media. Making investments across these multiple channels requires deep levels of audience insight, a high level of media knowledge plus experience in planning to orchestrate selected channels into a single cohesive plan. Deploying this skillset is how we define media/comms planning at CHEP.
Ultimately, we believe that the craft of media planning is knowing how to use media to grow demand for brands rather than simply harvesting sales from within the current demand pool.
**Responsibilities**:
- As Head of Media you will provide leadership for one of Australia's largest and most dynamic media accounts, with responsibility for the deployment of significant investment in paid media per annum.
- In total, this business is comprised of over 80 Cheppers, with 25 of those making up the media function - with your remit focused on inspiring, developing, retaining, and attracting talent at all levels.
- As part of a full-service offering, the work we aim to produce consistently strives to surpass that of a traditional media agency output, working to shape popular culture and create competitive advantage for all the functions: MX (Mobile Experience), Consumer and EC (Ecommerce)
- You will function as the key strategic partner and media advisor to senior clients, including divisional Presidents, Heads of Brand and Product marketing, as well as digital and performance Leads
- Alongside team and talent, your primary role will be to drive both commercial and business results, through work which seamlessly connects media, data, tech and creativity, to grow the clients business in Australia. Penetration, market share, and maximising sales from in-market audiences will form part of your KPIs.
- You will develop and execute Client engagement strategies, and identify ‘white space' business and marketing opportunities for the client, whilst in turn, driving organic growth for the broader Agency network
- Working alongside fellow account management leaders at a Client Partner level to ensure seamless operations across all team functions, defining process and driving strategic leadership together
- As the media figurehead for this account you will be responsible for building and establishing relationships with key media vendors at a senior level; across TV and OOH networks, as well as Digital and Platform partners. Subsequently these relationships will work to unlock first in market opportunities, innovative beta-trials and creative solutions
- Management and evolution of team resourcing plan, optimised for success in regards to number of heads and variation of skillsets
- Successfully manage P&L alongside the Chief Media Officer and General Manager
- As a recent addition to the CHEP make up of marketing disciplines you will also work to elevate media's reputation, relevance, and capabilities within the broader agency network
As the Ideal canddiate you bring...
- 15+ years' experience, at either a media or integrated agency offering across large-scale, blue-chip, or government-based accounts
- Category experience across telco, consumer electronics, entertainment and/or e-commerce is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of all the different types of channels, platforms, data and research that will help build understanding of consumer behaviour and media performance
- A top line understanding of AdTech, MarTech, CDPs and knowledge of how to execute 1PD strategies is beneficial
- A hunger to deliver exceptional media thinking that's both creative and effective, with their finger on the pulse of industry trends
- A strong history of positive media publisher/vendor relationships at a Senior level
- A desire to speaking in public, with the experience to back it up
- A sense of natural leadership with the ability to foster and inspire strong teams
- A tenacity and relentlessness - never backing down from a challenge; a superb problem solver who looks for the unexpected answers and is proactive with ideas
- A curiosity and interested in new technologies, emerging platforms, pop culture, media and everything in between
- The desire to flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a high tolerance for change, and is agile enough to keep pace with the evolution of the agency and the demands of growth
