First Peoples Prison Chaplain

UnitingCare Prison Ministry works ecumenically to provide prison chaplains throughout Queensland’s correctional centres. Our chaplains seek to provide faith-based pastoral care and support to all prisoners, irrespective of their condition, religious background, faith belief, social position, strengths, weaknesses, ethnicity or crimes. Our chaplains are diverse, from many different backgrounds and traditions, some even with a criminal past. They each come to the correctional centres with their life experience and a willingness to share with others.
It is a genuine requirement that this position is filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Person and is, therefore, an identified position in line with UnitingCare’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples Workforce Strategy.
