**Position Title**:Child Mental Health Counsellor**

**Classification**:Social Worker G2 Y1 (SC21) to G2 Y4 (SC24)**

**Salary per hour**:Dependant on experience & Qualifications

**Employment Type**:Fixed Term Contract Part-time 56 hours per fortnight until 27th February 2026

**Award**:Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise agreement 2021-2026

**Role description**

We're looking for a passionate and skilled professional to support children 6 - 13 and their families through early intervention and mental health support.

Located within the Directorate of Healthy Communities and Social Support Services, the counselling and Psychology Team at Dhelkaya Health is committed to delivering accessible, timely, and high-quality mental health support.

Key responsibilities:

- Assess and support children experiencing emotional behavioural, or mental health challenges
- Provide evidence-based counselling, both in our centre and through outreach
- Offer timely referrals and information to families
- Work closely with community services to build strong support networks
- Support parents with appropriate interventions
- Understand and follow legal requirements, including mandatory reporting
- Complete required training and maintain professional registration
- Meet service targets and contribute to reporting and data collection
- Attend team and stakeholder meetings
- Collaborate with health and community services to ensure holistic care
- Perform other duties with your skills and experience

**About you**
- Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work
- Membership with appropriate professional body
