About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS team as a Mental Health Clinical Nurse, where you will be responsible for:

Provide assessment, education, counselling, and group work to support children, adolescents, and their families with mental health needs.

• Ensure clinical practice aligns with policy, maintaining accountability for own standards and delegated activities.
• Collaborate with other professional disciplines and non-government organisations to achieve optimal consumer health and recovery.
• Offer direction, support, orientation, and education to staff, fostering a skilled and informed team.
• Lead and participate in research, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development within the service.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with individuals and families for positive mental health outcomes and to foster productive working relationships across disciplines.
• Ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve positive outcomes.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision Experience.
• Registered Nurse with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions of a complex nature with children, adolescents with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
