**About this role**
Due to significant opportunities for the Geotechnical Team in Adelaide which includes key roles on many of the large transport projects upcoming in Adelaide and the growth of our broader business around Australia, an exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Associate to Principal level Geotechnical Engineer to join our group and lead the geotechnical discipline.

**What will I do?**
As part of the Geotechnical team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to Geotechnical Design, Technical Excellence as well as project and team leadership.

Work closely with Design Managers to offer the full spectrum of geotechnical design services for major infrastructure projects in South Australia

Assume overall responsibility for geotechnical project planning, design, financial and quality control, implementation, and management

Liaise and communicate effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholders to fully understand clients' needs, project requirements and delivery

Effectively manage, motivate, and develop employees and contribute to the capability development of staff

Work closely with the Adelaide leadership team to develop Arup’s business in South Australia

**What will I bring?**
A minimum of 15 - 20 years of experience and proven track record across a range of medium to large scale projects and / or building types

Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering and Chartered Membership of IEAust (or in process of obtaining the chartership)

Understanding of the geological conditions in Adelaide and South Australia including an understanding of the local Geotechnical profession, including technical societies and proven working relationship with consultants and contractors

Capability to lead and take ownership of geotechnical scope elements of large multi-disciplinary projects and lead small single discipline engagements

Strong commercial awareness with an excellent planning, organization, delegation and communication skills
