The Opportunity

Join our growing Adelaide team as a Junior Geotechnical Engineer, where you'll contribute to a diverse range of geotechnical projects across various sectors. Working within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and technical professionals, you'll gain hands-on experience and professional development opportunities in a supportive environment.

This is a full-time position, though part-time or flexible working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and executing field investigations, including drilling, test pitting and sampling.
  • Undertake soil and rock logging, and supervise site works under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Travel to field sites across South Australia and interstate as required to support project delivery.
  • Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of geotechnical data, preparing factual and interpretive reports under supervision.
  • Support the preparation of high-quality geotechnical reports for private and public sector clients.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with Kleinfelder's HSE policies and client requirements.
  • Participate in professional development activities and work towards membership with relevant professional institutions.

About You

We are seeking talented and curious geotechnical engineers who want to advance their career with a global engineering and environmental consultancy.

  • A degree in geotechnical or relevant geomechanics engineering.
  • A passion for geotechnical field work.
  • +1 years' of experience.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the aptitude to confidently liaise with project teams, subcontractors and clients.
  • The ability to deliver to deadlines and within allocated budgets.
  • Safety leadership in the field and a commitment to adopting behavioural based safety programs.
  • The drive to succeed and be a strong contributor to the growth and success of Kleinfelder in Australia.
  • The ability and willingness to travel interstate.
  • A valid Australian (State or Territory) Drivers Licence.
