**Purpose of the Role**

The Security Architect will lead the design, evaluation, and maintenance of security infrastructure in an Agile Environment at Auto & General. They'll provide guidance to business, technology, and security teams, ensuring software and infrastructure are secure and cloud-first. Responsibilities include developing and executing security strategies to safeguard company assets. This role collaborates with Security, Infrastructure, IT Operations, and Development teams to innovate and improve processes, delivering secure, efficient solutions. Reducing time to market for AI innovations is a key focus.

**Position Accountabilities**
- Provide internal consultation on Security, Development, Cloud Services, and Architecture strategies.
- Contribute to designing standards and practices for the Security team based on industry frameworks.
- Drive continuous improvement for desired business outcomes.
- Contribute to AI initiatives to reduce time to market.
- Review and guide solution designs for quality and compliance.
- Consult with stakeholders to identify requirements and risks.
- Collaborate with teams to influence Security best practices.
- Ensure development compliance with standards.
- Collaborate on cloud infrastructure delivery and maintenance.
- Maintain relationships with stakeholders to manage outcomes.
- Ensure software solutions align with business expectations.
- Document and update architecture materials as needed.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Proficient in influencing and communicating Security, Development, Cloud Services, and Architecture practices to stakeholders.
- Passionate about Security, Cloud, and Automation, adept at solving complex problems systematically.
- Demonstrates ownership, inclusivity, collaboration, and a positive attitude in problem-solving.
- Enjoys collaborating with peers and teams to drive continuous improvements and initiatives.
- Adaptable mindset for continuous learning in the evolving technology landscape.
- Excellent people and communication skills to drive customer-first approach and ensure successful business outcomes.
- Proficient in documenting, reviewing, and updating architecture materials. Active participation in Auto & General architectural ceremonies.

**Technical Skills**:

- Strong interpersonal skills to build consensus and articulate strategies effectively.
- Demonstrated experience as an Architect in software development, infrastructure, and Cloud for large complex systems.
- Expertise in designing cloud solutions for rapid delivery of high-quality software.
- Up-to-date knowledge of security tools and capabilities.
- Familiarity with cloud automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
- Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation with tools like GitLab, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, etc.
- Proficient in Git, branching strategy, and release process.
- Knowledgeable in implementing AWS cloud solutions, serverless architecture, and AWS Well-Architected Framework in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with Security, Development, and DevOps practices. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and requirements.

- Strong background in Security, DevOps, Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering, and exposure to large language models is advantageous.
