About the role
The People Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in Lifeblood’s People and Culture (P&C) business unit and is responsible for overseeing both the People Support and Payroll functions. Reporting to the Director People and Culture Operations, this key leadership role requires a deep working knowledge of People and Culture processes, compliance, and payroll administration to ensure smooth and efficient People and Culture operations within Lifeblood.
In this role, you will drive a collaborative team in the day-to-day operations and the tactical and strategic expansion of the centralised People Operations function. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer support and enhanced employee and people leader experience through streamlined policies, procedures, and touchpoints. This includes ensuring that the payroll function runs efficiently with a focus on accuracy, currency to compliance and legislation, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Extensive experience (5+ years) in building and leading strong customer focus driven teams, with a keen view on enhancing the employee and people leader experience
Excellent team collaboration and people leadership experience, including coaching, team development, knowledge share and performance management
Previous experience balancing portfolios and workloads for operational teams
Highly analytical with excellent problem solving and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines
Payroll knowledge in a large or complex organisation
Experience with industrial awards, workplace agreements, executive remuneration.
Proven experience developing and implementing people and payroll strategy and tactical delivery including improvement strategies
Advanced skills with various payroll systems (Chris21 preferred) HRIS systems (SAP Successfactors preferred) and Time & Attendance systems (Humanforce preferred)
