An impactful and rewarding opportunity exists for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join the ECU Investigations and Integrity team as an Appeals Executive Officer.
The primary function of this position is to manage student academic and misconduct appeal processes, advise relevant University committees on regulatory and procedural compliance, and prepare written records of proceedings and determinations. This position also provides support to the broader integrity and investigation functions at ECU.
To be considered for this role you must have a tertiary qualification (such as a legal qualification) and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education/training. You will also need strong analytical and investigative skills potentially from a legal, advocacy, compliance, investigative or employee relations background or experience. You will be required to develop a strong understanding of legislation and policies related to student conduct and academic progression and have experience in investigating or determining allegations, assessing outcomes, and ensuring compliance with policies.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
Key Accountabilities
The key accountabilities can be found in the attached, and include, amongst others:
Leading all aspects of student appeals (misconduct and progression) at the University, including assessing eligibility, attending hearings and recording determinations made by the Appeals Committees.
Providing support and advice to the Student Appeals Committee, General Misconduct Appeals Committee, and Academic Board, amongst others.
Participating in and developing staff training and other initiatives, to educate, and foster strong working relationships with university stakeholders
Assisting more broadly the integrity and investigations function at ECU.
Remuneration
Remuneration for this full time, ongoing position is $132,326 to $138,384 pa (HEW 9) plus 17% superannuation contribution.
