**About the Team**

This role will report through to our Corporate Controlling Manager and will oversee a team of 6 Business Analysts. The Corporate Controlling team is part of our greater Finance team which continues to expand each month due to company growth. This role will be based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank, QLD.

**About the Role**

The Controlling Team Lead is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of RDA’s Corporate Controlling function ensuring key deliverables including the annual budget, operating and capital expenditure, the long term financial strategy, quarterly reports, annual reports and performance monitoring of large complex programs are planned, reviewed and delivered on time and to a high standard. The role is also responsible for leading key improvement initiatives to improve the RDA’s Corporate Controlling function.
- The general and generic duties of the Controlling Team Lead include, but not limited to:

- Support the Controlling Team to capture, plan and execute deliverables on a daily basis;
- Act as a key interface between stakeholders to resolve issues as they arise and ensure Controlling deliverables are delivered in a timely and accurate manner;
- Provide training and support for the Controlling Team as required;
- Lead continuous operational improvements initiatives within the Controlling Team, including identifying ways to better leverage the systems, improving the speed and automation of financial data capture, reconciliation, reporting and analysis;
- Provide regular status updates on continuous improvement initiatives, resolve issues effecting progress an ensure initiatives are delivered within expected timeframes;
- Support the Controlling Team in the development, communication and monitoring of RDA’s Planning Framework which encompasses of project/overhead planning and budget timeframes, objectives, performance measures, and the adoption of the budgets;
- Support the Controlling Team to provide support and advice to project and operational departments relating to actuals, budgets, and forecasts;
- Lead the Controlling Team in the delivery of its Mid Term Planning process;
- Assist in providing support and advice to the organisation in preparing forecasts and budgets within the prescribed timelines; and
- Liaise with key stakeholders on RDA’s performance against budget and provide specialist financial management advice on budget control and forecast outcomes.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

- CA or CPA qualified;
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance / Accounting / Commerce or related disciplines;
- Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling;
- Proven experience in project cost planning, scheduling and development of financial reports and analysis;
- Expert knowledge of costing/management accounting practices;
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly within Excel);
- Ability to travel interstate and globally when required; and
- The ability to gain and hold the relevant Australian Defence Security Clearance.
