**We seek a suitably qualified individual to contribute to community wellbeing by providing support to the community centre functions and programs.** As our Community Centre Officer, you’ll be responsible for
- Supporting the Community Centre Supervisor to ensure effective facility management including customer service, administration, centre bookings and identifying and reporting maintenance requirements, risks and hazards.
- Undertaking any money handling duties, including reconciliations and raise purchase requisitions and debtor invoices as required.
- As required, providing support to user groups and volunteers at community centres.
- Identifying opportunities for community engagement processes to ensure maximum community participation and involvement.
- Collecting and reporting on statistical data, programs and activities as required.
- Responding to customers in a courteous and efficient manner, using initiative to resolve requests and enquiries.
- Developing and implementing community development programs and activities in consultation with Community Centre Supervisor, in response to community interests, needs, and external body requirements.
- As required, assisting in the development and implementation of community development special projects.
- Providing an up-to-date database on local community and information services for community referral.
- Updating internal records and information sources and the community centre webpages.
- Liaising with Marketing and Communications and assist the Community Centre Supervisor to identify and implement communication initiatives for community centres.
**To be successful in this role, you will possess**:
- Essential - Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Essential - Current Police Clearance.
- Essential - Working With Children Check.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound organisation and time management skills.
- Sound customer service skills.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
**Other skills**:
- Demonstrated experience in an administration or a community facility role.
- Previous experience in money handling, including reconciliations.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft suite of products.
- Experience in the use of financial databases for requisitions and invoicing.
- Knowledge of community development principles.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of cross-cultural issues and issues impacting on different demographic groups.
