An exciting opportunity currently exists for enthusiastic and highly motivated nurses to undertake a Graduate Certificate of Advanced Nursing (Cardiac Care) whilst working in Ward 5 North.

Ward 5 North Cardiac Catheter Laboratory provides quality health care to patients with all forms of heart disease with a strong teaching and research focus. It has a state-of-the-art diagnostic area adjacent to the ward comprising two cardiac catheter laboratories and six echocardiographic laboratories. A day-recovery area contains 11 beds for patients having elective day procedures. Austin Health was one of the first in Victoria to establish a 24/7 acute infarct angioplasty service to provide immediate reperfusion therapy for patients with acute myocardial infarction.

You will be employed part time (0.8 EFT) in Ward 5 North Cardiac Catheter Laboratory for the duration of the Graduate Certificate.

At Austin Health we follow a best practice clinical learning environment philosophy and as such deliver education using contemporary teaching modalities with an emphasis on experiential learning with a particular focus on bedside teaching and learning. Subjects are assessed from both theoretical and clinical perspectives. The Post Graduate Certificate program will be undertaken over a 12-month period.

**Position Requirements**

Registered Nurse registered with NMBA

2 years acute clinical experience post registration
