Boeing are on the search for a Global Trade Control Specialist. The role is an integral role within our GTC team for support to all Boeing Australian entities, so we will be investing training for the right person to cover any specialist knowledge gaps and to make sure they have the right support on a day-to-day basis. Previous exposure to or knowledge of GTC and Australian Customs, as well as experience within a Defence environment is desirable. The role may be based in Brisbane, Adelaide, Port Melbourne, Williamtown or Canberra.
This role will see you take the lead on global trade control matters relating to import/ export for our business against Australian export controls regulations, as well as and US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
We are looking for someone who is willing to work autonomously, remotely as needed and in an interdisciplinary GTC team. If you are keen to join us, you must be able to self-manage your time well under multiple deadlines while always professionally representing the business. You will need to be a professional who is experienced in working collaboratively with others, including our program teams as they develop new cutting-edge systems and exciting new technologies. Your aim in this role is to willingly support and uphold our GTC compliance requirements, while providing specialist knowledge when requested or required.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Offers daily guidance to local entities on regulatory trade compliance issues and areas of risk.
- Develop and deliver trade compliance training to employees
- Researches and identifies regulatory and legislative requirements, and conducts impact analysis for the business entities and ensures proper communication
- Analyse regulatory requirements for new opportunities and provides guidance and advice through the implementation phase
- Conduct program compliance assessments and individual training, as needed
- Provide input into the development and update of processes and procedures
- Participate in internal trade compliance audits of export and import activities.
**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED**
- Experience within the Defence or Government industry and GTC preferred but not essential
- Strong people and communication skills
- Process-orientated with good attention to detail
- Ability to plan out a program’s GTC needs
- Ability to stay abreast of any GTC changes that may affect planning schedules
**Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements and the ability to obtain NV1 clearance**
