Industrial relations and policy specialist for a National body that protects Australian businesses

Our client is part of the chamber movement, representing a national voice tackling issues affecting Australian businesses across the country.
**Your new role**
The Workplace Relations Specialist is responsible for working with internal stakeholders, members, and other peak bodies to support advocacy on behalf of the WA business community on industrial relations policy issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake research and analysis, including monitoring developments in relevant legislation and case law.
- Preparing written and verbal submissions to the State and Commonwealth Government, tribunals and relevant regulators.
- Engaging with members and managing the Workplace Relations Forum.
- Building and maintaining constructive relationships with key external stakeholders to influence policy development, including within government bodies and other industry associations.
- Communicate and collaborate with other units within to support the organisation meet its strategic priorities.
- Contribute to business unit planning and improving internal processes and systems.
- Any other duties as directed by your manager or supervisor which may be reasonably expected of you.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- At least five years’ practical experience in workplace relations, with a demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting WA employers.
- Outstanding research, problem solving and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to identify legislative solution to topical workplace relations issues.
- Superior written skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- The ability to build constructive relationships with business and government.
- The capacity to deal with sensitive issues in a professional and confidential manner.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office suite.
