The Submarine Systems Engineering (SSE) supports the Submarine Enterprise and conducts specialist tasks for Collins sustainment, Collins Life of Type Extension project, Submarine Combat systems and the Nuclear Powered Submarine Taskforce.

Within the SSE Support System team, the Support System ILS Officer - Acquisition will be the SSE lead authority on Defence and Navy ILS technical, professional policy as applied to existing and future RAN submarine capabilities. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve SSE, RAN and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to the Support System Director.

**About our Team**
The Collins Submarine Program within NSSG is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia’s Collins Class submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability the strategic submarine capability to the nation.

You will have knowledge or experience in the delivery or assurance of ILS or Materiel Logistics.

Key attributes and experience we are looking for:

- At least four years of experience in the planning, practice or assurance of ILS or Materiel Logistics;
- Have a well-developed understanding of and compliance to** **relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements applicable to submarine acquisition, upkeep, update and upgrades;
- May be tertiary qualified through recognised degree qualifications or relevant vocational training;
- Must be capable of reviewing, assuring and developing the quality of work undertaken by others;
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, sound technical verbal and written communication abilities;
- Be accountable for achieving ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
