**Hours**:This is a 1.0 FTE position and is fixed term for parental leave backfill for 12 months.

**About the Role**:
The AOD Peer Support Worker will work as part of a multidisciplinary AOD team to deliver focused evidence based treatment options for individuals experiencing substance dependence wishing to undergo in-home withdrawal.

The AOD Peer Support Worker will draw on their lived experience to engage with clients and their families/carers across the program’s full spectrum of care

**Experience Requirements**:

- Demonstrated experience in working with the practice principles of peer work to use own lived experience, and experiential knowledge to share information, skills and strategies that support and promote therapeutic optimism with clients, families, carers and staff.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in the provision of peer support for people who have AOD dependence and the provision of psychosocial supports and non-crisis interventions to AOD clients and families/friends.
- Has experienced AOD substance dependence as well as demonstrated successful management and maintenance over an extensive period of time

**Qualification and Other Requirements**:

- Drivers Licence
- Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
- Allied Health Qualification ie Social Work, or Occupational Therapy, or relevant undergraduate tertiary qualification ie psychology and experience in the AOD sector
- Certificate IV or higher in Alcohol and Other Drugs
- Current National Police Check
- Current Child Safe Environments
