**About Us**:
The Office of the Public Advocate (OPA) is an independent statutory office accountable to the Victorian Parliament which has been established to protect the rights of, and enhance the position of, people with disabilities in Victoria.
**About the Role**:
The Communications Projects Officer is a new 12-month role reporting to the Communications Lead. The Communications Unit oversees the operations of OPA's communications and leads the strategic development of OPA's communications.
Some of your duties will include:
- Undertaking communications activities to further the diversity and inclusion goals of OPA
- Playing a lead role in planning for, and promoting inclusion-related projects, resources and activities of the office.
- Assisting staff involved in OPA's inclusion projects to develop content for OPA's public website.
**About You**:
- Demonstrated ability to write accessible content for target audiences.
- Demonstrated technical communications-related skills, including willingness and ability to develop new skills as required. For example:
- Skills in use of website Content Management Systems and working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and Google Analytics
- Demonstrated ability to manage project activities.
- Ability to draw on lived experience of disability to understand the experiences of, and barriers faced by, people with disability (particularly people with cognitive disability).
