Support Worker/ Caregiver

**Job description**
**We are wanting to hire two (2) x experienced caregivers to complement the existing team supporting an NDIS participant with dementia, living in the northside suburb of Ashgrove 4060.**
At present, our client is receiving 70.5 hours of care every week. The current roster has 10.5hr shifts Monday - Friday, with 9hr shifts every Saturday and Sunday.
**What we are looking for right now, are staff to fill the Saturday and Sunday shifts (generally 7.30am - 4.30pm) - ongoing.**
Vitally important, is your sound knowledge of AND practical experience in supporting people with dementia and related needs.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide a premium care experience to our client that is genuine, compassionate and personalised;
- Deliver care in accordance with the client's care plan that has been developed by a Registered Nurse;
- Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly;
- Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.

**Skills & Experience**
- Previous experience as a Support Worker/ Caregiver supporting clients with dementia and/ or challenging behaviours;
- Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset
- Based on the specific needs of the client, male support workers/ caregivers are preferred in this instance (although female applicants are still welcome);
- Ability to identify and report client care concerns to management when needed.
- Reliable way to get to and from the client's homes (i.e. driving your own vehicle, no reliance on public transport).
**Mandatory Requirements**
- Minimum Certificate III in either: Aged Care, Community, Individual Support or Disability, or extensive industry experience (i.e. equivalent to certificate III)
- National Police Check (Aged Care/ Vulnerable Persons Sector)
- Working With Children Check (e.g. QLD ‘Blue Card’)
- NDIS Worker Screener Clearance (e.g. QLD ‘Yellow Card’)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Completion
- Current CPR and First Aid certificates
- Current Driver’s license + your own reliable vehicle (suitable for transporting clients with disability).
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $33.96 - $93.72 per hour
