Assistant Chief Steward

We're looking for an **Assistant Chief Steward** to join our Stewarding team at the **Royal International Convention Centre (RICC) and Brisbane Showgrounds**

If you love keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect fit. In this role, you’ll help lead the stewarding team, making sure the kitchen stays spotless, equipment is cleaned and stored properly, and stock is well-managed.

The hours will vary, including weekends, so we need someone flexible and ready to jump in when needed. If you're a team player who takes pride in getting things done, we'd love to have you on board

**This is a fixed-term, full time contract ending December 2025 with the aim to extend in 2026**

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain a clean, organised kitchen by ensuring all surfaces, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and stored.
- Dispose of rubbish and waste promptly, following hygiene and OHS guidelines.
- Adhere to cleaning protocols, rosters, and chemical safety standards.
- Complete washing and cleaning duties to ensure crockery, cookware, and utensils are readily available.
- Operate and maintain kitchen machinery according to instructions, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
- Follow RNA Showgrounds policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including OHS and equal opportunity standards.
- Assist kitchen staff with reasonable requests to support smooth operations.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Ideally 3 years' experience in a supervisory position within a fast-paced, large commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of OHS and hygiene standards in commercial kitchens.
- Can-do attitude
- Exceptional people skills
- Ability to work shift hours and weekends.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with co-workers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Drivers License
