**Due to the nature of the needs of the client, it is a requirement of the job for the worker to be female.**
**The client**
Our client is a 9-year-old female living in the Northern suburbs who is actively supported 24/7 with Department of Child Protection (DCP) support. She is a quiet and shy young girl who likes, quiet time, writing stories, Hello Kitty, sharks, going to the beach, gardening, exploring, and playing outside. She responds well to predictable routines and regular and consistent staff, so staff members who are willing to make long-term commitments to her support would be highly regarded.
**There are multiple permanent part-time and casual positions available.**

**What you need to succeed**:
- Be a passionate, reliable, and dedicated support worker who is looking to grow and further develop your skills
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with others to ensure a consistent approach to enable clients to reach their goals.
- Experience in working with behaviours of concern and implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies and plans.
- Knowledge of the autism spectrum and effective strategies for support.
- Experience supporting clients in their homes and the community
- Experience supporting young people to develop independent living skills
- Familiarity with Active Support principles Experience or knowledge of alternative communication methods
**Essential requirements**:
- A minimum Certificate IV in Disability or Youth Work, relevant industry/personal experience will also be considered
- National Police Clearance within the last 3 months
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and DHS Working with Children Check
- Availability to work over a 7-day roster including active/passive nights and weekend work.
- Full Australian Drivers Licence
- Completion of NDIS worker orientation module
- First Aid and CPR training
- Child Safe Environment training
- Assist with Medication training
- DCP Psychological Assessment (successful applicants will be supported with this process)
