**About the role.**
The Economic Policy Branch within the DPC Policy Group leads policy and strategic initiatives in the most interesting and impactful matters driving economic development and opportunity in NSW.
Working in the Branch, you will contribute towards complex policy and project work to inform policy directions and major initiatives. You will be part of a high performing team that provides well researched and sound options on which the Government can rely for effective decision making and delivery. You will be at the centre of government decision making. DPC proactively partners with community and all levels of Government to broker solutions and deliver meaningful outcomes.
The Branch is looking for applicants within the broader Economic Policy branch, with a specific interest from the investment and infrastructure team.
As an Associate Director, you will undertake complex economic policy advice and project work to inform policy directions and major initiatives. You will lead the development of well researched and sound options by identifying emerging issues on which the Department can rely for effective decision making or delivery. You will also prepare high level advice to the Premier and the executive of the Department of Premier and Cabinet on these matters. You will also lead a small team of policy experts and generalists to deliver advice and strategic initiatives of priority to the Premier.

- You have experience and/or interest in how to drive economic development for NSW through investment, infrastructure, trade, transport, city development, and arts & culture or related areas.
- You have experience in undertaking many aspects of the policy process - research, analysis, policy development, project implementation, and evaluation - you do NOT need to be working in Government now, but have experience gained elsewhere
- You have appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent, relevant professional experience and training - you do NOT need to be an economist but have an interest in learning about how the economy can impact people’s lives.
- You thrive working in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- You are well-organised and able to manage a constant workflow within short deadlines, with high attention to detail.
- You enjoy contributing to a high performing team to drive big ideas that are based on high quality and useful advice.
