Customer Service Attendant

Customer Service Attendants must be responsive and helpful to the customer’s needs, to not only meet their expectations but to exceed them. Customer Service Attendants need to be organised, practical and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to foresee and evaluate potential problems, and deal with the unexpected in a calm and efficient manner, is essential. You must also possess good office skills, a polite and helpful telephone manner, be able to demonstrate keen attention to detail and show a willingness to learn.

Customer Service Attendants are required to operate a range of digital cameras to produce high quality images that meet Australia Zoo standards. This position requires awareness of different software programs (e.g. Photoshop) and workflow systems to process and print photos. An understanding of Digital Communications is required.

**Duties May Include -**
- Welcome and greet customers, assisting patrons with enquiries.
- Point-of-sale processing including register operation, receiving and processing cash or credit payments.
- This may include processing other transactions such as Annual pass holders.
- Accurately give change and receipts.
- Be able to complete any refunds on customer’s request and supervisor’s approval.
- Numeracy skills with regard to counting money, sorting change and balancing cash registers at the end of shift.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
- Ability to undertake stock counts.
- Stocking shelves with accurate merchandising when applicable.
- Ability to accurately describe a product’s features and benefits.
- Reporting discrepancies and problems to the Chief Guest Experience Officer.
- Keep the area tidy and clean, this includes vacuuming, mopping, cleaning windows etc.
- Being able to deal with customer complaints.
- Assist with Crowd control and customer movements during daily shows and Event days.
- Keeping up to date with special promotions, staff memos, communications books and putting up displays.
- Conduct tours, encounters and experiences alongside a team of Zookeepers, Tour Guides and Photographers.
- Act as a liaison with all encounter and tour booking.
- Guest Experience orientated photography and encounters photography.
- Maintain Australia Zoos customer service standards.

**Essential Criteria -**
- Experience in general Customer Service.
- Experience and demonstrated skillset within Photography and Camera operations.
- Exceptional verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Personable and approachable with excellent customer service skills.
- Commitment to privacy and confidentiality.
- Have a friendly, confident and engaging personality.
- Comfortable working with members of the public.
- Full Availability, inclusive of weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods.

**Preferred Criteria -**
- Current 1st Aid qualifications.
- Any other relevant certificates/licences.
- Proof of coronavirus vaccination (unless otherwise exempt).
