Customer Service Attendants are employed within the multiple locations within the Customer Service department of Australia Zoo. Primarily admissions with support to food court and retail.
Being assigned to the Admissions team, you are employed to ensure our guests enter the zoo in a friendly and welcoming manner. You are required to be knowledgeable about all our zoo promotions and events as well as our regular daily activities/presentations within the zoo.
Opportunity exists to become multi-skilled & work in the other departments mentioned above. You will need to have excellent customer service skills, excellent presentation, provide accurate & current information & work well with others.
**Primary Duties -**
- Welcoming and greeting customers, assisting patrons with enquiries.
- Complete all customer service with high standards.
- Point of Sale processing, including register operation, receiving and processing cash and credit card payments. This may include transactions such as ‘Annual passes’ or ‘Group Bookings’.
- Retail duties, such as: Stocking shelves, maintaining a clean shop, processing sales, assisting customers and liaising with the warehousing team.
- Concierge duties, such as: Greeting Guests, assisting with Zebra Crossings, Coordinating Traffic and Liaising with Senior Management regarding any incoming and outgoing traffic.
- Remain contactable at all times during on-shift time, by utilising the CB radios provided.
- Assist during peak periods within other departments (Retail/F&B) under the direction of your department supervisor or POC.
- Accurately give change and receipts and process any eftpos payments/visa payments when applicable.
- Remain familiar with Australia Zoo’s Emergency Procedures and assist the Supervisor in coordinating any emergency processes when required.
- Complete any refunds on customers request and supervisors’ approvals.
- Maintain sound Numeracy skills with regard to counting cash, sorting change and balancing registers at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
- Undertake Stock Counts to assist with End of Financial Year processing and monthly audits.
- Report discrepancies to the Retail Supervisor.
- Assist with Crowd Control and customer movements during daily shows and Event Days.
- Working within department procedures and KPI’s.
- Assisting with directing customers through the appropriate booth, dependant on their booking style.
- Assist the Supervisor with completing additional tasks as required.
- Remain familiar with all Australia Zoo Policies and Procedures, and ensure that any appropriate Emergency Procedures for Admissions are followed appropriately.
