**Role Purpose**
The **Sales Trainer** is responsible for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of training for our outbound sales team. You’ll work closely with Sales Management, Buying, and HR teams to ensure our people at all performance levels have the knowledge, confidence, and skills to achieve exceptional results.
This is a hands-on role perfect for someone with L&D experience looking to broaden into a management-track opportunity in a dynamic, wine-focused sales environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, deliver, and maintain engaging training programs tailored to **low, mid, and high-performing sales team members**, with a clear focus on lifting individual and team sales achievements.
- Develop structured weekly, monthly, and quarterly training plans aligned to sales targets and KPIs.
- Collaborate with Sales Management and HR to support annual performance reviews and development planning.
- Identify skills and knowledge gaps at all performance levels through observation, call monitoring, coaching feedback, and sales results analysis.
- Deliver differentiated training strategies for:
- **Low performers**: foundational sales skills, confidence building, call structure.
- **Mid performers**: advanced objection handling, closing techniques, consistency.
- **High performers**: leadership readiness, mentoring skills, premium product selling.
- Use a range of proven training methods, including workshops, role-play, mentoring, simulations, call monitoring, and on-the-job coaching.
- Incorporate wine education into all learning activities using both internal resources and external training providers.
- Promote a high-performance culture with ongoing learning, feedback, and recognition.
- Maintain and update all training materials, curriculum databases, and training records.
- Communicate internal training opportunities clearly to employees, supporting them in accessing development pathways.
- Evaluate and report on training effectiveness, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Manage in-house training facilities, equipment, and Learning Management System (LMS) if applicable.
- Research and recommend new training methods, technologies, or systems to enhance learning outcomes.

**Requirements**:
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training programs, ideally in a call centre or sales environments.
- Knowledge of outbound sales practices, customer engagement, and coaching techniques.
- Passion for wine with WSET training or equivalent wine education is highly regarded.
- Ability to tailor coaching to **low, mid, and high performers** to support growth across the team.
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) or similar training tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong planning, organisation, reporting and time management abilities.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity in handling confidential information.
- CRM, ERP, Dialler or call centre system experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for training content and reporting.
- Availability to work evening shifts as required.
- Tertiary qualifications in Training, Education, HR, or equivalent experience desirable.
