About the role
Lifeblood is looking for a Customer Care Specialist with excellent customer-facing skills and a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to our donors. You will play a key role in supporting our donors through their donation process. Full training is provided so, along with the above, all you need is the curiosity and motivation to learn the process of collecting blood and biological product. A day in the centre could see you:
Greet and interview potential donors to understand their eligibility and suitability to donate
Complete routine blood pressure and haemoglobin tests
Set up machines and collections equipment
Insert and remove needles safely to collect whole blood, plasma, and platelets
Monitor donors post-donation and assist them with rebooking their next donation
Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets
Our paid, flexible self-paced training program ensures you are well-supported with both on-the-job practice and scheduled online classes. No prior qualifications or experience in healthcare is required; our team members have come from a variety of diverse industries and backgrounds. Besides having a real passion to deliver an amazing donor experience, you’ll need to:
Be comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials
Occasionally lift between 9-22.7kgs
Frequently stand, walk and bend to set up and pack down machines and blood products
Be flexible to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster, Monday to Saturday, including weekends and afternoon shifts
