**Job Purpose**:
The Specialist, Industrial Security acts as a strategic, trusted and confidential partner to their client group by supporting all security related functions within the L3Harris Communications Australia (L3HCA) facilities and providing strategic guidance on all security-related matters with the objective of adding value to the business.

This position will work closely with middle management and staff in support of L3HCA’s Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) membership including maintenance and reporting functions as well as providing support to the physical security of all L3HCA Australia-based facilities including Alarm Systems, Employee access requirements and Defence ICT assets.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide security advice and act as first point of contact within L3HCA facilities, providing physical security support to the Alarm Systems - to include afterhours support, key management, employee identification swipe card access
- Maintain L3HCA’s security register, security standing orders, conduct security awareness training, and induction and exit briefs for all new and exiting employees as per DISP requirements
- Partner effectively with the Manager, Industrial Security, reporting all security related observations and recommendations for consideration and implementation
- Effectively manage and maintain the visitor access system including the provision of identity cards
- Proactively report and manage all security incidents with the support of the Manager, Industrial Security
- Ensure the management and maintenance of the AGSVA clearance process for all L3HCA new employees to include waivers and porting
- Support the management and maintenance of clearance required briefings for L3HCA employees such as providing overseas travel briefings and debriefings
- Process and manage Defence Protected Network (DPN) and Defence Secret Network (DSN) access requests
- Assist and support the annual Protective Security Self-Assessment, DISP Audits and accreditations for L3HCA

**Skills Required**:

- Previous experience within a Security position managing secure facilities
- Ability to effectively handle demanding and challenging situations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuous change
- Demonstrate strong consulting, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Strong computer skills in MS office suite

**Experience & Education Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5+ year’s strategic Security practitioner experience.
- Demonstrated practical knowledge and understanding of Defence Security Manual (DSM) policies and procedures, and the Defence Security Policy Framework (DSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM)
- Proficient knowledge to coordinate and administer the appropriate actions as described within the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) to moderate impacts on department results
- Experience working in a matrixed organization is an asset.
- Experience working in the Defence industry is a preference, though operating within a complex, international, matrix structure business will be considered alongside this
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security (AGSVA) Clearance NV1
