**Your new company**
This Federal Government Statutory Authority is taking the lead of managing the Murray-Darling basin in an integrated and sustainable manner to achieve a healthy, working Basin for the benefit of all Australians. Currently they are seeking an APS6 Water Resource Plan Assessor.
**Your new role**
As the Water Resource Plan Assessor, you will be responsible for key deliverables to complete components of the assessment of Water Resources Plans with a current focus on NSW. You will work closely alongside other Water Resource Plan Assessors and engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with the assessment of Water Resources Plans.
- Under EL1 direction, undertake critical analysis of state legislation.
- Be responsible for assisting the assessment of a specified water resources plan and assist assessment of specific parts of other water resource plans led by others.
As you will be engaging and collaborating with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally well-developed communication skills, with the ability to foster professional relationships whilst building rapport and trust is a must.
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar position within Federal Government or equivalent. As well as this, you will have:
- The ability to deliver results in a context requiring attention to detail and ability to work consistently within established templates.
- Knowledge and experience in Government writing.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and work to established processes.
- The ability to respond to changing priorities and work flexibly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- The ability to work collaboratively and productively in both face-to-face and virtual environments is essential.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- The ability to work well in a team environment, be flexible and thrive on problem solving tasks.
- The ability to foster professional working relationships whilst building rapport and trust.
- Manage effective and productive working relationships with internal staff, senior executives and external stakeholders throughout relevant jurisdictions and the Commonwealth.
- Experience in or understanding of legislative assessment is desirable but not essential.
- Understanding of or qualifications in Water Policy, Water Act, Environmental/biological science and/or natural resource management.
- Experience in Basin Plan Assessment and/or compliance would also be highly desirable.
To be considered for this role you must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
