**Our Vic Government client is hiring a Principal Data Analyst for an initial d**uration of 6 months with possible extension.**

The position is part of a team that has a broader focus on policy design, funding to the sector, program implementation and significant and complex reporting requirements

Requirement:

- Ensure delivery of timely, accurate and high quality data products and reports
- Present complex concepts ideas and issues in clear confident and timely manner
- Undertake complex statistical and analytic projects to monitor the department progress against key outcome
- Contribute to the establishment and continuous improvement of data collection systems to support business and policy needs of the department
- Identify data gaps and lead the development of new data sources
- Identify data required to support improvements in monitoring of Department's key outcome
- Develop briefs on strategic issues and risks that provide options for decision making and risk management within the organisation
- Develop departmental, divisional or team performance goals and targets
- Participate in strategic planning activities and contribute to strategic decision making processes
- Deals with concepts and complexity comfortably
- Has creative ideas and can project how these can link to innovations
- Uses analytic and conceptual skills to reason through problems
