***About the role**

This position is responsible for:

- Leading a professional, multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of customer requests relative to unauthorised building works and land uses, while maintaining a high standard of customer service and compliance with the relevant legislation.
- Ensuring that Council’s programmed inspections are targeted and managed to ensure key land uses, such as restricted premises, boarding houses and swimming pools are safe and achieve compliance with legislative requirements.
- Being responsive to community expectations and the need for information and education within a regulatory role.
- Responding timely to legislative changes.

**On a daily basis you will**:

- Lead and manage staff in a manner that brings Council’s vision, purpose and values alive and ensure that a quality service is delivered by the team,
- Provide specialist advice to the community concerning statutory enforcement of Acts and Regulations to achieve their requirements as well as Regulatory Services Unit objectives.
- Ensure duties are conducted within their delegated authorities, within legislative requirements and compliant with Council policies, procedures and practices.
- Ensure that the team is carrying out their duties in an efficient and effective manner
- Ensure effective allocation of work, monitoring and supervision of staff within the team, including ensuring that team meetings are held on a regular programmed basis to achieve team and regulatory services objectives, goals and outcomes to required timeframes.
- Ensure effective management and further development of individual team members and team performance.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of reports, records, and prosecution briefs pertaining to the team’s decisions.
- Provide guidance and advice to all staff within the team.
- Ensure compliance with Council’s obligations as an employer under the NSW OH&S Act 2000 (and associated regulations) for all activities within the area of responsibility.
- Contribute to improved customer service and organisational
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and other parties as required in regards to operational & strategic matters relevant to the Regulatory Services Unit.
- Identify, analyse and advise Regulatory Services management about operational, strategic and business improvement matters relevant to the team.

We are offering an attractive total remuneration from $116,493.71 - $128,238.46.
