The Information Services Directorate sits within the People and Corporate Services Division and provides integral services in the information and communication technology space to the entire Department. Information Services partner with our customers and stakeholders to support and drive the development of innovative, digital, and customer-focused outcomes and services.
**The Opportunity**
The Information Services (IS) Business Continuity and Risk Officer is accountable to Unit Manager, Governance and Improvement for the provision of service continuity and disaster recovery planning and support, as part of, and in close co-operation with both Information Services functions and the Department’s corporate business continuity function. This includes co-ordination of planning, designing, testing and maintenance of procedures and contingency plans to meet the Department’s needs.
The role also provides support and advice on the improvement of Information Services business processes to consolidate, manage and maintain service continuity and undertakes planning and implementation of Directorate-wide processes and procedures for the management and reporting of risks to the delivery of the Directorate’s services. This includes working with managers and team members across Information Services as well as the corporate risk function to identify mitigations and controls. The role plays an important part in driving a risk-based culture across the Directorate.
The role collaboratively works with and coaches other Governance and Improvement team members to ensure cross-skilling across the team and contributes to the development and execution of other Assurance improvement strategies (i.e. COBIT guidance, maturity assessments and uplift), work programs and outcomes and contributes to the development of Directorate business plans and monitoring and reporting of progress towards objectives.
The Governance and Improvement team core baseline capability and skills across all team members includes COBIT framework knowledge and benchmarking capability, risk management techniques, improvement strategies and governance structures, reporting and analysis skillsets, and customer engagement approach to delivering.
**Requirements**:
A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline will be highly regarded or qualifications in line with the technical competencies and skills specified in the role statement.
**Special Conditions**
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
**Remuneration**
ASO6 - $98,478 to $104,165 per annum
