**About the OPPORTUNITY**
We have a great opportunity for an Electrical Supervisor to join our Hunter Class Line of Business based at SA-Osborne Naval Shipyard.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
Reporting to the Superintendent - Electrical, you will support in delivering project outputs within a manufacturing environment ensuring all activities associated with the manufacture, production and assembly of components are produced in the most cost effective way whilst maintaining an efficient use of resources and meeting all safety, design, quality and budget requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead a specialist team that is engaged in delivering their part of the business strategy, collaborating with key stakeholder relationships for the business area
- Develop a high performing team, understanding strengths, weaknesses and motivations and managing accordingly
- Deliver a positive and productive work environment, through effective leadership of all team members and employee engagement
- Improve the production team capability, by identifying and developing potential management team members to take up future leadership roles
- Implementing resource planning as directed
- Plan and manage the labour requirements for the production facilities in line with production deliverables, cost and budget targets and Enterprise Agreement (EA) requirements
- Report and control production performance and provide reports on production activities, including progress to plans, issues and ideas to improve production
- Coordinate work activities, facilitate running stand up meetings, control activities of teams, provide training and use of work instructions, procedures and work steps and work orders
- Responsible for understanding quality requirements and working to meet or exceed
- Delivery of improvement projects within the production system
**About YOU**
- Recognised relevant trade qualification or role experience in the manufacturing domain
- Experience in supervision of small teams
- Ability to motivate individuals and teams across a number of business areas, to shape and implement business requirements
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management
- Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/ or external stakeholders in a way which generates business benefit whilst maintaining key relationships
- Excellent time management skills in a complex manufacturing environment
- Team player with proven commitment to continuous improvement
- Listen and take on board alternative points of view - values individual differences
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
