**About the Directorate**:
The Early Childhood Services and Strategy Directorate provides strategic leadership and delivery of early childhood policy and programs in South Australia, including through providing policy, reform and service advice and support for early childhood education and care settings (particularly preschool), design and delivery of universal and targeted early childhood programs and services, early years intergovernmental advice and implementation of national early childhood initiatives, and supporting regulation and compliance of early childhood services.
The Early Childhood Programs unit supports the department’s delivery of a range of early childhood education and care programs and services, including Learning Together Communities and childcare, and is responsible for the collection, delivery and utilisation of the Australian Early Development Census and support for integrated sites, particularly Children’s Centres for Early Childhood Development and Parenting, as well as childcare policy and sector engagement.
Learning Together Communities is a multi-layered network of supported and community playgroups and parent education services for families with children aged from birth to four years of age, underpinned by a common evidence-informed approach and tailored to meet the needs of local communities. It is based on the Learning Together program’s principles and approach, with the overarching aim to engage families in their children’s learning to improve outcomes for the children.
**About the Role**:
The Learning Together Educator will be responsible for planning and facilitating supported playgroups (including outreach/mobile playgroups), providing 1:1 mentoring to community playgroup facilitators (on department ad community sites) and supported transition services (as appropriate) based on community need.
**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:
- Must have, or be actively working towards, an approved certificate 111 level education and care qualification or other post-secondary qualifications in childcare, education, behavioural science or social work studies.
- a current approved first aid qualification, anaphylaxis and emergency management training (refer to the ACECQA website for lists of approved qualifications)
**Desirable**:
- Diploma in Education and Care

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
ECW2 $69,260 - $76,303 per annum (1.0 FTE), plus superannuation
