Our Data and Analytics team is growing We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Governance Specialist to join our Technology team. Reporting to our Head of Data Engineering & BI, you will be responsible for developing data management and governance capabilities across the business and driving their implementation across our suite of transformation projects. Munro Footwear is on the strategic path to be a truly data-driven organisation. This greenfield role is pivotal to the success of the strategy by ensuring we respect and care for the quality of our data. Working as an integral part of the Data and Analytics team you will get Executive level support to develop and implement the governance framework across the entire organisation.
In this role you will be responsible for
- Championing the adoption of Data Governance frameworks and policies across the organisation
- Uplifting organisational data maturity across Data Quality, Master Data, Meta Data and third-party planes
- Lead the Data Governance Committee to drive responsible data usage across the organisation
- Drive the development and ongoing adoption of Data Glossaries, Data Dictionaries and associated tools
- Engage with key stakeholders when procuring new systems/data to ensure compliance with policies

To be successful you will have
- Bachelor's degree in Business Systems/Information Technology
- Experience working across all aspects the information lifecycle
- Be able to deal with ambiguity and make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all levels and thrive in a cross-functional matrix environment
- Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical addressees
- Experience implementing or contributing to Data Governance or Data Management frameworks or policies in an enterprise setting

You will also work closely with great people. We work hard, play hard and look after each other like family. Despite the inconveniences of the pandemic over the last three years, our team still delivered many big projects such as migrating from two to one ERP, delivering a Retail Allocation solution, developing a mobile Ship-from-Store app, building a best practice data platform and we are just about to go live with one of the largest automated warehouses in this country. You will make a difference, the question really is how big.Finally, we adopt best practices including tools. You will be working with Azure data tools and Power BI. We constantly try new things and refine our data platform so that we spend less time wrangling with data but driving value from using it.This role has a blank sheet to work with. We are not worried if you do not have extensive data governance experience. We want you to grow and mature with the rest of the organisation. - We are looking for someone with 2-3 years' experience working in different data projects. Someone who knows how data should be used best and can take the lead on this to implement best practice within the organsaition. Someone with familiarity of reporting suites, some SQL, PowerBI and Tableau / ClickView experience.
- You will be from a SME where the drive comes from you. If you are an experienced data analyst, reporting analyst or a BA in data projects, wanting to make your move into data governance then this is your power move
- You will foster collaboration, currently be the lead with how business uses data, be personable and have initiative to lead cross collaboration across our departments
